  • Upgraded MS Exchange (Mail Server) from Exchange 2000 to MS Exchange 2003 this was done by creating a new server them migrate the database.
  • Moved all the Server services from DELL servers (that is not supported by DELL any more) to HP that has redundancy at network level, CPU level, cooling level, hard drive level and power level with 3 years-on-site support.
  • Introduced, installed and administrated SharePoint2003 Portal server.
  • Moved all Calgary jobs/projects/data from the Public Folder to SharePoint Portal Server
  • Cleared, arranged & documented stockroom, and server room in the old office
  • Documented all the servers in all 3 studios using Word, Excel & Visio. All the information was verified by TELUS, Rogers & Cisco for all Cohos Evamy internal, External & voice systems and made it available on the network (central location) this including the passwords, Calgary Phone extensions
  • All Calgary servers were labelled with the name and IP addresses.
  • Organised all the Backup tapes and moved them off-site storage after documenting them
  • Organized all the Calgary archives  with documentation
  • Organized all Calgary software library
  • All Calgary network gear was labelled with name and IP addresses.
  • Backed-up all network devices configuration in all 3 studio’s on a monthly intervals.
  • Upgraded the paging software for Calgary office
  • Introduced, installed & maintained SQL Enterprise 2005 Server using MS Windows 2003 server
  • Worked with HP, Cisco, Microsoft & Lenovo Canada to have Cohos Evamy as “SELECT” client to get better services, support & special prices
  • Created with team members in Calgary Blackberry Enterprise server and shared all the information with all IT team.
  • Unified all Calgary studios’ computers and server naming structure.
  • Upgraded all the notebooks, projectors & digital camera’s with keeping track record of them plus create a new inventory list that host all the details of these devices after labelling them.
  • Upgraded all Calgary, Toronto users to Outlook 2003 and coordinated with Edmonton the upgrade.
  • Provided Toronto studio users the technical support till IT team member was hired.
  • Installed, configured, tested and administrated SPAM mail Firewall (Barracuda 300)
  • Managed Calgary Studio office IT Shift which includes the following:
  • Designed the new office network according the office layout
  • Designed the server room and the telecommunication room with all the IT requirements that includes UPS size, Power setup, cable trays, the server racks, patch panels, fire system, flooring etc., all these were worked out with coordination of Cohos Evamy project team
  • Re-structured all the network schema for all 3 studio’s to be scalable, reliable, redundant & gives better performance which includes change the Public and the private IP addresses and create naming structure for all the devices plus implemented VLAN (Virtual Local Area Network)structure all a cross the office to enhance the security and performance.
  • Re-organised the Active Directory to make it easy to manage including implementing the scripts to run on the system level and not user level plus re-organised and defined new scopes for DNS and DHCP entrees.
  • Worked with consultants in re-configuring the network devices for all 3 sites
  • Shifted from old office to the new office with only 16 hours of downtime for Calgary and Toronto.
  • Worked with Rogers and DNS service provider to create the new Public network and services.
  • Created a new accounting servers based on Windows 2003 server
  • Worked with consultants to create a new UNIX server to do the following:
  • SYS LOG Server
  • Monitoring Server for all active network gear, firewalls, Rogers WAN connection, Internet pipe connection, servers
  • Cacti monitoring server (prevention tool for all our system devices for all active network gear (Routers, Access switches, distribution switches, firewalls, Rogers WAN connection, Internet pipe connection, for all 3 studio’s
  • RADIUS server to enhance the network devices security all cross the offices
  • Created and maintained new Tool server for the IT team to host all required tools and software’s to perform their work and duties including asset tracking
  • Worked with Rod in installing and upgrading our Storage and Backup system implementing HP approved virtual live backup system plus introducing Storage Area Network (SAN) switches with Fibre connection to Exchange, SQL & File server providing reliable and redundant fast link as each server have 2 fibre cables connected to each SAN switch.
  • Introduced, configured and administrated VPN switch for remote, secure connection with the ability to conduct secure meetings for up to 25 users with the ability to expansion to 100 users using the same switch.
  • Introduced, worked with Rod and Unis Lumin in upgrading the phone system using the latest hardware and software available from Cisco using Linux OS for the call manager to give the phone system the reliability required.
  • Introduced, configured and administrated WAN Accelerators in all 3 cities to enhance the link between the 3 cities and cost saving on the long run.
  • Configured and installed Balzac site network so they are part of Cohos Evamy network.
  • Installed, configured & administrated Kiwi software for automatic backup for all Cisco devices configuration in all 3 studio’s
  • Part of the team that deployed : Office 2007, & AutoCAD 2007
  • Administrated and maintained the Cacti monitoring servers.
  • Assisted in creating the IT budget for the past 2 years
  • Assisted in evaluating new IT solutions and technologies.
  • Most important function is provide all our users fast, reliable support and do all what required to have satisfied and happy users and clients.
  • Administrating 32 central servers (Windows 2000 and 2003) that provide the company with all file, network, security, ftp, and all other services
  • Administrating all Firewalls in all 3 studio’s
  • Administrating all Routers, Switches used for the data or voice.
  • Administrating Cisco VoIP system, including the routers, switches and servers.

  • All the above was done as part of IT team that has 2 team members in Calgary, 2 in Edmonton and 1 in Toronto serving 400+ user across Canada.
